General Assembly Instructions for BrickNest Display Cases
Welcome to your BrickNest display case assembly guide. Our premium acrylic display cases are designed to showcase your LEGO sets with gallery-quality presentation whilst protecting them from dust and damage. Follow these straightforward instructions to assemble your display case safely and efficiently.
What You'll Need
- Your BrickNest display case components (base, panels, and top)
- Soft, clean cloth or microfibre towel
- Flat, stable work surface
- Protective covering for your work area (optional but recommended)
Before You Begin
Important: Handle all acrylic panels with care. Acrylic is durable but can scratch if dragged across rough surfaces. Keep the protective film on panels until assembly is complete.
Top Tip: Work in a clean, well-lit area with plenty of space. Lay down a soft cloth or towel to protect both your work surface and the acrylic components.
Unpack and Inspect
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Your display case typically includes:
- Acrylic base panel
- Four side panels (front, back, and two sides)
- Top panel
- Assembly instructions specific to your model
Check that all pieces are present and undamaged. If anything is missing or damaged, please contact us immediately.
Remove Protective Film
Once assembly is complete and you're satisfied with the fit:
- Carefully peel away the protective film from all panels
- Start from a corner and pull slowly to avoid static buildup
- Use a soft cloth to wipe away any residue or fingerprints
- Polish with a microfibre cloth for crystal-clear visibility
Step 1: Prepare the Base
Place the base panel on your work surface with the protective film still attached. The base typically has pre-drilled slots or grooves designed to hold the side panels securely in place.
Identify which edges correspond to the front, back, and sides of your display case. Some models have subtle markings or different slot configurations to guide correct placement.
Place and secure all the cubes into the base corners and secure them with the provided screws underneath the base.
Step 2: Insert the Back Panel
Start with the back panel, as this provides the most stability during assembly:
- Hold the back panel vertically
- Carefully align the bottom edge with the corresponding slot in the base
- Gently slide the panel into the groove, ensuring it sits flush and upright
- Tighten the screws to secure the bottom of the panels so its attached to the base.
- DONT release this panel yet as it could snap at the base.
Step 3: Attach the Side Panels
With the back panel in place, add the two side panels:
- Take one side panel and align it with the slot on the base
- Ensure the edge meets flush with the back panel
- Slide into position, checking that corners align neatly
- Tighten the corresponding screws into the corners
- Add the cubes and screws to the tops of the panels
- Repeat for the opposite side panel
The three panels should now form a stable U-shape around your base.
Step 4: Insert your LEGO set into the case
Carefully place in your LEGO set into the LEGO Display Case ensuring it's centered or placed upon the stand for that set.
Step 5: Add the Front Panel
The front panel completes the enclosure:
- Align the front panel with the remaining slot in the base
- Check that both edges meet flush with the side panels
- Gently slide into place
- Verify all four corners are properly aligned
- Tighten screws securely to fit the panel
Step 6: Secure the Top Panel
The top panel typically rests on the assembled side panels:
- Carefully lift the top panel
- Align it with the top edges of all four side panels
- Gently lower into position
- Ensure the top sits level and flush on all sides
- Tighten all screws so the case is fully sealed
Care and Maintenance
Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or paper towels, which can scratch acrylic.
Positioning: Keep your display case away from direct sunlight to prevent UV damage to both the acrylic and prevent warping from heat overtime. Avoid placing near heat sources.
Handling: When moving your display case, support it from the base rather than lifting by the top panel to prevent separation. For larger cases remove the set before moving your case.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Panels won't fit: Ensure you've removed all packaging materials and that you're inserting panels in the correct orientation. Check that the base is on a level surface.
Gaps between panels: Gently press panels together at the corners. Some cases may require slight adjustment to achieve a perfect fit.
Top panel doesn't sit flush: Verify that all side panels are fully inserted into the base and standing perfectly vertical.
