How to Wall Mount Your LEGO® Models

A straightforward guide to choosing the correct BrickNest mount, preparing your wall and securely displaying your LEGO collection.

Before You Begin

Every wall is different. The fixing supplied with your BrickNest mount may not be suitable for all wall types. Before installation, identify your wall construction and use a fixing rated for the combined weight of the mount and LEGO model. If you are unsure, consult a qualified tradesperson.

Choose the correct mount

Check Your LEGO Set Number

Find the set number on the LEGO box or instruction booklet and make sure it matches the number shown in the BrickNest product title. Mounts designed for similarly shaped models may not be interchangeable.


Step-by-step installation guide

Step 1: Select the position

Hold the LEGO model near the intended display area and check that it has enough clearance on every side. Leave sufficient space to lift the model onto and off the mount.

Step 2: Check behind the wall

Use an appropriate detector to check the planned drilling area for concealed electrical cables, pipes and structural elements.

Step 3: Mark the fixing point

Position the mount in its intended orientation and use a pencil to mark the fixing hole. For mounts with multiple fixing points, use a spirit level before marking every hole.

Step 4: Drill the hole

Use a drill bit suitable for your wall and chosen fixing. Follow the fixing manufacturer’s instructions for the required diameter and depth.

Step 5: Install the wall fixing

Insert the appropriate wall plug or anchor. It should sit correctly in the wall without being loose, damaged or excessively recessed.

Step 6: Attach the mount

Position the BrickNest mount over the fixing point and tighten the screw until the bracket is secure. Do not overtighten, as excessive force may damage the mount or wall.

Step 7: Check the mount

Gently test the empty mount before adding the model. It should remain firmly in position without movement, cracking or separation from the wall.

Step 8: Place the LEGO model

Support the model with both hands and carefully align it with the intended support points. Lower or slide it into position without forcing any LEGO elements.

Step 9: Complete the final check

Confirm that the model is fully seated, balanced and not pressing against delicate parts. Recheck the installation periodically and after the model has been removed and replaced.

FAQs

Are wall fixings included?

Yes. Each BrickNest wall mount includes a screw and wall plug unless otherwise stated on the product page. As walls differ, always confirm that the supplied fixing is suitable for your wall type and the weight of your LEGO model before installation.

Can I install a mount on plasterboard?

Yes, provided you use an appropriate plasterboard fixing rated for the combined weight of the mount and LEGO model. The supplied general-purpose wall plug may not be suitable for plasterboard. If you are unsure which fixing to use, consult a qualified tradesperson.

Can I remove the LEGO model after installation?

Yes. BrickNest wall mounts allow you to carefully lift the compatible LEGO model off the bracket whenever you want to handle, clean or reposition it. The mount remains attached to the wall. Always support the model with both hands when removing it.

How do I know which mount fits my set?

Check the LEGO set number printed on the box or instruction booklet and match it with the set number shown in the BrickNest product title and description. Our mounts are designed for specific models, so similarly shaped LEGO sets may require different brackets.

Will the mount damage my LEGO model?

When the correct mount is used and the model is positioned properly, it should not damage your LEGO set. Each set-specific mount supports the model at carefully selected structural points without requiring permanent modifications. Never force the model onto the bracket.

Can I install several mounts together?

Yes. Multiple mounts can be arranged to create an F1 grid, Technic feature wall or Star Wars fleet. Plan the arrangement before drilling, maintain consistent spacing and leave enough clearance to safely install and remove each model.
